Role of a, b and c in y = a x2 + b x + c
The purpose of this applet is to illustrate how the values of a, b and c affect
the parabola y = a x2 + b x + c. Use it as follows:
- Use the scroll bar to change the values of a (between -10 and 10). The opening
of the parabola should change as a changes. The value of a to the left of
the scroll bar should also be updated. Note: The applet will not allow a to be 0. a x2 + b x + c is a quadratic function only when a is not 0.
- Use the scroll bar to change the values of b and c (between -10 and 10).
The parabola should change as b and c change. The value of b and c to the
left of the scroll bar should also be updated.
