Partnerships:

An interdisciplinary workshop for faculty in Physics and Mathematics

Carroll College, Helena, Montana, June 20-25, 1999

Teams of faculty will build cross-disciplinary partnerships and work together on interdisciplinary materials to use in teaching courses at their home institutions.

Goals:

Form institutional teams to collaborate on interdisciplinary materials in Physics and Mathematics
Study materials developed by NSF-sponsored projects in the Mathematical Sciences and their Applications Across the Curriculum program
Adopt/Adapt/Develop materials for use in your courses

Content:

Topics from all levels of the undergraduate curriculum in mathematics and physics
Interactive workshops led by faculty who have developed interdisciplinary materials in Physics and Mathematics
Working with your team on previously developed as well as original materials
Collaboration with other teams

Participants:

Teams of 2-4 must include at least one mathematics and one physics faculty member

Support:

Room and board provided for all participants; limited travel funds available

Applications accepted until April 15,1999

Sponsored by the Mathematics Association of America with funding from the National Science Foundation

Partnerships fosters collaboration among faculty from different disciplines to rely on their partners' expertise to develop and use interdisciplinary materials.
