Research Interests:

1. My major research interest is the investigation of metal toxicity to native wetland plant species. Currently, most regulations are based on data obtained by testing agricultural species, or algae. It is unclear whether the data obtained using these surrogate agricultural species adequately protect native wetland plants.

2. Dr. Paula Jackson and I are investigating source-water use in native Georgian tree using stable isotope analysis. This relatively new technique allows non-destructive assessment of the differential use of soil water resources by plants.
