The Past, Present and Future of Information Systems and Information Security

May 10 to May-24, 2010

Program Description

This class offers the student the opportunity for a multi-disciplinary study of the past/present/future of information systems and the mechanisms used to secure them. This course allows students to select from four thematic approaches to the subject:

  1. Risk Management using a business systems focus
  2. Data Processing using an information systems focus
  3. Information Assurance using an information security focus
  4. Transparency and Surveillance using a social science focus

Each theme will engage the students to explore the past experiences, present practices and future trends of information systems and information security.  While in London, the student will be exposed to content drawn from academia, commerce, government agencies and personal life. Students will live and study in Central London with excursions to various locations in metropolitan London.

 This program is expected to cost $2,900 plus tuition and fees for a 3-hour course.
