the
Board of Regents as the most outstanding undergraduate
research program in the state and offers students
the opportunity to learn science by doing science.
It
is an honor for me to lead one of the most dynamic
and exciting Colleges in the Georgia University
System. I come to Kennesaw with a non-traditional
background for an academic dean after three years
as Department Head of Chemistry & Biochemistry
at South Dakota State University. Most of my professional
experience is in the industrial and business sectors
where I began my career as a Research Scientist,
became a Research Director and subsequently Vice
President of Research & Development for two
Fortune-100 companies. I have also started up two
companies; one in the computer industry and another
involved with the acquisition of privately-held
companies.
My
goal at Kennesaw State University is to create
an atmosphere in our college where both our students
and our faculty can realize their full potential,
and grow personally as well as professionally.
It is more important than ever before that all
students gain an understanding of the role of science
and mathematics in their lives. For students majoring
in a science-based discipline, it is essential
that they acquire a good understanding of basic
concepts and how these principles are applied in
practice. Since most of our scientific knowledge
is becoming obsolete within five or ten years,
our students must gain perpetual learning skills
during their undergraduate years. We prepare our
students to compete and grow in a global economy.
These are important priorities in your education
at Kennesaw State.
If
you select a degree program in our college, you
will receive what we truly believe is the best
undergraduate education the University System of
Georgia has to offer. If you are serious about
your education, you will acquire the knowledge,
skills and savvy to compete effectively in the
job market. Through the many co-op experiences
or internships available within our college, you
will gain practical experience in the workplace
that many times leads directly to professional
employment upon graduation. Finally, you will have
the opportunity to enjoy the most technologically-advanced
classrooms in the state, designed to enhance student
learning and provide you the best possible learning
environment.
Our
home page is structured for prospective students
