END OF SEMESTER SOCIAL

KSU SAACS hosted our last meeting of the semester on April 30 at 12:30 in CL 2010. We had a pizza and ice cream social, sold ACS study guides and t-shirts, discussed the benefits of joining SAACS, and held officer elections for 2009-2010.

Administration change

As the administration changes occurred in Washington, DC, so did the changes in the KSU SAACS administration.  In response to the graduation of the secretary and the vice-president’s move to Washington, DC for an internship, nominations and elections were held.  The new officers or continuing officers with different roles will be listed in bold type below.  Welcome to all new and returning club officers.

Mole Day: General meeting on pharmacy

October 28th, 2008

October 23 turned out to be a great success when we had exceptional turnout of students interested in pharmacy…OR…maybe it was partly due to the aroma of pizza wafting into the science building atrium.

Lacey’s Pharmacist John Price, PharmD. A graduate of Mercer University’s Pharmacy program provides advice to potential future pharmacists, while also offering insight into the daily duties of a pharmacist in compounding and retail pharmacy.

Mercer Admissions Coordinator, Ms. Melva Lord, provides students with information on Mercer’s pharmacy school admissions processes and requirments.

Bake Sale Success

Tuesday October 21, 2008 was a success and a blast. Thanks to all who helped to make it happen! And thanks to our supporters who purchased goods at the sale!

    National Chemistry Week (October 19th – 25th, 2008)

    Are you ready for next week?

    The KSU ACS Affiliates Chapter proudly presents our annual celebration of National Chemistry Week 2008 (NCW). This year’s theme is “Having a Ball with Chemistry – the Chemistry of Sports!” Next week, we will be hosting two major events, which we hope you can join us:

    Tuesday: Bake Sale, New T-Shirts and ACS Study guides for sale (11:30PM - 3PM Clendenin Lobby). Free chemistry tutoring for Nursing, General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry will be available immediately following bake sale. Games and Awards will be given every 20 minutes. If you are interested in volunteering a few hours of your time, please contact me, Quynh, at qnguyen7@students.kennesaw.edu

    Thursday: (Mole Day) October 23, 2008 at 12:30-1:45 PM in SC 215. Topic: PHARMACY! A representative from Mercer University will also be at this meeting! There will be PIZZA and DRINKS!

    The First General Meeting of Fall 2008

    August 21, 2008: Week of Welcome Activity Fair (11:00AM – 2:00PM)

    Incoming freshmen or returning students, join us for Welcome Week 2008!

    If you want to learn how to get involved in all sorts of students groups on campus, and pick up information and free stuffs on other student services and academic departments, be sure to stop by the University Rooms in the Student Center for the Activities Fair event. As apart of the interviewing process the candidates have to give a presentation on their research. The presentations are open to all and students are especially encouraged to attend.     Hi again, the fundraiser is still scheduled for Wednesday from 10am to 4pm.
