________________________________________________________________________________________________________ END OF SEMESTER SOCIAL April 30th at 12:30 p.m. in CL 2010 KSU SAACS hosted our last meeting of the semester on April 30 at 12:30 in CL 2010. We had a pizza and ice cream social, sold ACS study guides and t-shirts, discussed the benefits of joining SAACS, and held officer elections for 2009-2010. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ OFFICERS MEETING April 9th at 3:30 p.m. in SC 302 SAACS officers and Faculty Sponsors will discuss end of the year activities and the upcoming Symposium of Student Scholars. ____________________________________________________________________________________________Mole Day: General meeting on pharmacyOctober 28th, 2008October 23 turned out to be a great success when we had exceptional turnout of students interested in pharmacy…OR…maybe it was partly due to the aroma of pizza wafting into the science building atrium. Lacey’s Pharmacist John Price, PharmD. A graduate of Mercer University’s Pharmacy program provides advice to potential future pharmacists, while also offering insight into the daily duties of a pharmacist in compounding and retail pharmacy. Mercer Admissions Coordinator, Ms. Melva Lord, provides students with information on Mercer’s pharmacy school admissions processes and requirments. ____________________________________________________________________________________________Bake Sale SuccessOctober 28th, 2008Tuesday October 21, 2008 was a success and a blast. Thanks to all who helped to make it happen! And thanks to our supporters who purchased goods at the sale! Dr. Gregory Gabriel shows his support for KSU SAACS by purchasing a goodie from Alina Abrahams-Geisler at the bake sale. The KSU ACS Affiliates Chapter proudly presents our annual celebration of National Chemistry Week 2008 (NCW). This year’s theme is “Having a Ball with Chemistry – the Chemistry of Sports!” Next week, we will be hosting two major events, which we hope you can join us: • Tuesday: Bake Sale, New T-Shirts and ACS Study guides for sale (11:30PM - 3PM Clendenin Lobby). Free chemistry tutoring for Nursing, General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry will be available immediately following bake sale. Games and Awards will be given every 20 minutes.
