Courses

 

The IT Certificate consists of 15 semester hours of coursework.  Students must complete each course with a grade of "C' or better to use the course to fulfill  Certificate requirements.

 

Required Course

 

CSIS 2300 Principles of Computing or equivalent*    3 hours

Electives

Choose three courses from the following:                            9 hours

 

IT 3300 Web Technologies

 

IT 3500 Database Technologies

 

IT 3700 Information Technology Management

 

IT 4525 Electronic Commerce

Applied Learning Experience                                      3 hours

Choose one applied learning experience

IT 3396 Cooperative Study (or Co-op from student's major)

IT 3398 Internship (or Internship from student's major)

IT 4400 Directed Study (or Directed Study from student's major)

Program Total:                                                                        15 hours

* Students may use CSIS 1001, CSIS 2300, BISM 2100, or other appropriate introductory computer course to fulfill this requirement.  Students interested in the Advanced Placement Standing test for CSIS 2300 should follow this link.
