The "How To Create A Webpage" Assignment

Your assignment is to create a simple Web page and upload the page to your student account. If you do not have a student account, click here to apply for an account online.

In order to prepare for this assignment, you need to do a little research. Write a short statement (1 to 3 paragraphs) about a career area within Computing that you find interesting or useful using Microsoft Word. Then, create a wep page that meets the following requirements:

  • It must be written in HTML using a text editor such as Notepad
  • It must contain the following elements:
    • a link to the text of your written report about a career area in Computing that you have uploaded to your web server
    • links to at least three Web sites of employers that hire people in the career area in Computing you found useful or interesting
    • comments that give the name of the author and the name of the assignment
    • a web page title
    • a mailto link with your e-mail address
    • background color or image
    • an image or graphic of your choice

By the way, remember that anything you publish on a web page can be read by anyone with an Internet connection. So, you may want to be careful about what things you put up on your web page, and who you share your userid and password with. The best advice we can give is you should not put anything on your web page that you wouldn;t want to read out loud at commencement with your Mom and Dad in the audience.
