Pre-Professional Program Recommendations |
Students
interested in preparing for admission to a professional
school (e.g. medicine, law, engineering, dentistry
etc.) should consider taking the recommended
course work outlined below as part of their
program of study at KSU.
The
recommendations that follow are designed to
satisfy the entrance requirements of local
or regional professional schools. In addition,
experience has shown that these requirements
are reasonably uniform nationwide and therefore
should prepare you for admission to any school
in the country. However, it is always a good
idea to bring to your adviser the catalog
from the school in which you are interested,
particularly if you are planning to attend
an out-of-state school with admission requirements
with which your adviser may not be familiar.
Finally, you are urged to work the pre-professional
requirements into a specific program of study
at Kennesaw State University for a bachelor's
degree. Since students pursuing a pre-professional
program in a health-care field usually declare
biology or chemistry as a program of study,
they are strongly urged to contact advisors
in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
or the Department of Biological and Physical
Sciences to discuss career goals. KSU has
a Center for Pre-Professional Science Advising
located at SC 409 (770-423-6159) to provide
a central point to get information to students
and to refer students to appropriate advisors
in various departments.
