Adopt-A-Stream
What's New?A New Edition of the AAL Manual
The AAL Committee is currently working on a new edition. Anticipated changes include procedures for becoming a "certified" volunteer lake monitor (see below) and procedures to make chlorophyll sample transport to analytical labs easier.AAL Certified Monitors
Procedures are presently being developed to "certify" volunteer lake monitors. By having members of your group certified, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division will accept and include your data in their state-wide data base. Your data will be submitted through the EPD's Adopt-A-Stream program. To become certified, your group will attend one of the AAL workshops, and must be re-certified each year at the Georgia Lakes Society annual meeting. However, certification will not be required for participation in the AAL program, it will only be required if you wish your data to be included in the Georgia EPD's statewide database.
