Build a Data SetYour group will want to build and maintain its own data base of measurements collected on your lake. In addition, there are other options for building and sharing your data set:
Your group can use the at The Great North American Secchi Dip-In website (go to: http://dipin.kent.edu/instruct.htm) to build a web viewable data set. You are permitted to enter data from any time of the year, not just during the month of the Dip-in. The advantage of this is that the data is publically available for any member of your organization to view over the internet. However, the only water quality parameter viewable is secchi depth.
Coming Soon:
Procedures are presently being developed to "certify" volunteer lake monitors. By having members of your group certified, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division will accept and include your data in their state-wide data base. See "What's New?" for more information.
